About
Rémi Gallego, video game composer
Rémi Gallego is a French composer who writes music for video games in synthwave, metal and electronic styles. He is also The Algorithm, his electronic and progressive metal project, so studios get a composer whose sound already exists as a recognised artistic voice: powerful and melancholic.
He writes loops that carry a level for hours and dynamic scores that rise and fall with the action. His credits include the dynamic soundtrack for Rematch by Sloclap, the drum & bass score for Abyssus, the progressive metal score for The Last Spell and the synthwave score for Hell Is Other Demons.

Game credits
Rematch
Online 5v5 football from Sloclap, the studio behind Sifu. Every arena has its own theme, from Birch Forest and Halong Bay to Deep Sea and Space, and the album collects Season 0 to Season 5. Lotus Juice and milkyPRiSM feature on “Reach My Best”, Mc Staff on “JOGA A BOLA”.
Abyssus
A co-op roguelite shooter beneath the sea. The score follows the descent from the expedition camp through temples and royal gardens to the bosses: the Golemancer, Highpriest Un’glu and To’raka, King of the Abyss. Jungle and drum & bass drive the fights.
The Last Spell
A tactical roguelite from Ishtar Games: hold the last city through the night while the horde comes in waves. Twenty-seven tracks of progressive metal and synth, from “Commander’s Theme” to “Sanctus Overdrive”, also pressed on vinyl by Kid Katana Records.
Hell Is Other Demons
An arcade shooter with bold colour and over-the-top bosses: a demon out to kill other demons, through a long campaign and an endless, procedurally generated arcade mode. A heavy, brooding synthwave score, written, mixed and mastered by Rémi.
VOIN
A first-person hack-and-slash from solo developer Nikita Sozidar, published by tinyBuild: dark fantasy realms, hordes to cleave through and menacing bosses. Rémi wrote two tracks for the soundtrack, as The Algorithm: “Fire and Flesh”, its first single, and “Elemental Fury”.
Dislyte
An urban mythology RPG from Farlight Games and Lilith Games, where heroes carry the powers of ancient gods through a near-future city. Rémi composed “Reborn” for the game’s first EP, sung by Nikki Simmons.
Hacknet
A terminal-based hacking simulator: follow the instructions of a recently deceased hacker down a rabbit hole. Rémi wrote the opening track, “Malware Injection”, and “Panic Track”, on a soundtrack shared with Carpenter Brut, Cinematrik and others.
